Methods of the extreme religious right - Deprogramming - Delusion of fighting the 'devil'
There was, in the 60's in america an underlying belief, that any eastern, or non accepted religion or even personal development (which states that man can improve his condition outside of the philosophy of these extremists), is "the work of the Devil". So each extremist must be dedicated to eliminating "the work of the devil".
It takes this understanding to explain why the early forms of "deprogramming" emerged. For a very large fee, a parent, concerned about the immortal soul of an adult child who had left the family religion could recapture the soul of the child and get them to recant and rejoin the family "accepted family religion".
A very large fee was charged for what was basically an illegal and highly offensive activity.
What this money bought , was the forcible kidnapping of the target individual , and transporting them to a hidden and secure location .There through the techniques of assault , (physically, sexually and with drugs)-the individual was encouraged to recant the
This "deprogramming" became a new industry for those who would engage in such activities (forcibly changing an individual’s belief system) who were in the main, ex-criminals. and certainly did jail time when engaged in these activities.
As well it became a huge money-spinner. A deprogrammer would charge $40,000 to a family concerned about the change of belief system of an adult child and wanting them deprogrammed. After the establishment of deprogramming as a business, only then did the phenomenon of an organization in America, called Cult Awareness Network, come into existence. It was formed as referral organization for "deprogramming". It was this organization that spread and began the popularization of the term "cult", as a fearsome word, in order to drum up business for deprogramming.
This organization is now defunct and has been exposed for blue collar crime (hiding monies received for deprogramming), and criminal crime (kidnapping, assault and battery)
The attack against Ken, Kenja and now Jan, traces right back to the early 60”s in its many forms, it attacked the scientific viewpoint Ken adopted to Spirituality. People of many religions, and those of no religion worked with Ken. But Ken refused to adopt any sort of “superior “status and placed evolution of the individual, firmly back in the hands of the individual. Self –motivated, strong, independent people, who would not sell out their ethics, or sense of right or wrong, emerged from Ken. This was a great threat to those who would control.
For years this attack on Kenja as "of the devil" continued by these fanatics. Ten's of thousand's of people have been though Kenja training and experience, since it’s inception in 1982.
We do have ethics, and occasionally criminal behavior is revealed in a participant and we ask the participant to change this negative behavior or cease participating in Kenja activities.
Some of these people who have been asked to leave are canvassed by this anti –cult movement and directly recruited into its service. They usually are deprogrammed (have their thoughts reprogrammed into the thoughts accepted and desired by the anti cult movement), and serve as foot soldiers for those with the bigger agenda of the anti cult movement.
