Attempts to discredit Ken's War Record
Click to enlarge How can we let an Australian soldier be so maligned? How can our
taxpayer-funded ABC condone the attempted destruction of an Australian
man's truthful war record, when he has passed on?
Ken served his country in World War II.
His war medals speak for themselves.
The seemingly accepted practice that anti-cult groups are trying to get
people to accept, is to deliberately falsify Ken's war record. This
indicates the depths to which these people will go in their attack. In
presenting this, Rachael Kohn knows full well what she is doing and
puts herself right next to them by even allowing Hudson's accusations
to go untested. How anyone, least of all the ABC, condones this
practice is unspeakable.
Ken saw action in world War II at El Alamein under Montgomery and at
the landings at Lae and Finschaffen. Hudson lies, stating Ken was a
military policeman for all this time and never saw the front line.
Yet his medals indicate active service in both areas.
THESE TACTICS ARE UNSPEAKABLE, SHAMEFUL AND UN-AUSTRALIAN.
Ex-drug addict Beven Hudson wants to flaunt court martials to lie and
blacken Ken's name to suit Hudson's creation. Here are the real facts:
The Court Martial
First court martial
When in action in New Guinea, an officious corporal brought Ken,
himself a corporal, up on 3 charges. Ken was on guard duty in New
Guinea. Any reasonable researcher knows how horrific the conditions
were that the men were enduring. Two soldiers were using a blow torch
under a tent to warm some water in a tin just to have a warm chocolate
drink. Ken allowed them to do this. The other corporal wanted to stop
the men and when Ken expressed his feelings on this matter brought Ken
up on 3 charges.
Ken was found NOT GUILTY of 2 of the 3 charges (which involved leaving his post) but was found guilty of swearing.
Second court martial
After active duty in New Guinea, Ken was shipped back to Australia with
malaria and dengue fever and a piece of grenade in his side.
While in a work detachment at home in Australia he attempted to lift
some heavy petrol drums but found that he was not strong enough to do
so. He refused to carry out an order of a sergeant who insisted he lift
them. The sergeant threatened Ken with a court martial. Ken was not intimidated; the court martial went ahead and Ken was found NOT GUILTY
of both charges.
Third court martial
Like many Australian soldiers at the time, after returning from active
duty in New Guinea they would often go AWOL to handle family matters.
Ken did this. He surrendered himself and was fined 20 pounds for being
AWOL for a few days.
Summary
How any civilian, 65 years later, can attempt to attack behaviour of
men in a wartime situation is despicable. That it gains credibility
with the ABC, our national broadcaster, means that the standards of
that ABC are frighteningly loose.
The RSL
For many years, Ken was a member of the sub-branch of the local RSL.
Beven Hudson is obviously not aware that the sub-branch of an RSL is the part of the RSL that only veterans can join.
Or maybe he is aware.
Ken had been a member of this sub-branch for over 15 years. Both Ken
and Jan were members of the local RSL which is basically a commercial
venture anyone can join.
When local fanatical religious church elements - a few bigoted fanatics
- became influenced by the fanatical religious attack against Ken and
Kenja, these elements influenced an executive member of the commercial
local RSL. They would not allow Ken
and Jan
to rejoin the commercial club. It is surprising Hudson knew of this.
Presumably his fundamentalist religious contacts extend to the local
fanatical fundamentalists there.
Ken was a member of the sub-branch of the local RSL. He was never
dismissed from this group. He received great support from these
veterans who were present and read out Ken's war service during Ken's
funeral.
What lies Beven Hudson tells... It is in the nature of true witchhunts
that the more absurd and dishonest the criticism, the more it seems to
be welcomed by Rachael Kohn's religious programme.
